    This is a ‘grab your crash helmet and strap yourself in Châteauneuf.  It’s a brooding monster of a Southern Rhône from a magnificent old guard domaine in a magical vintage.  Hot and ripe and utterly sublime!

    A brooding monster of a southern Rhône from a magnificent old guard domaine in a magical vintage. A complex bouquet of kirsch liqueur, lavender, new saddle leather and spice box combine with ripe fruit and chewy tannins to complete this wine. Hot and ripe and utterly sublime.:
    Grape variety and blend : 75 % Grenache, 10% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre, 5% diverses cépages (Cinsault, Counoise, Terret Noire, Bourboulenc…)

    Alcohol : 15%.

    Residual sugar : less than 3.0 g/lt.

    Production quantity : 28 hl/ha

    Age of vine : 50 Years

    Soil type : Clay and limestone terraces with typical Chateauneuf du Pape pudding stones.

    Hand/machine harvested : Only by hand

    Harvest dates : End of September.

    Length of fermentation : 5 Weeks

    Steel tank/barrel fermentation : Concrete tank fermented

    Bottle/cask ageing :Approximately 18 month in old barrels (2 to 10 years old) + 12 months ageing in bottles

    Bouquet : Aromas of garigue, black cherries & raspberry taste, amazing depth of the wine, elegance, smoked and refreshing mineral on the finish.
