We're really excited to be launching this extremely sound, seriously tasty claret at the sensible price (we think) of ￡8.95. The Vintner's Claret is our own blend of Merlot and Cabernet created with the help of respected vigneron and friend, Vincent Lataste at Chateau Lardiley in the heart of the Cotes de Castillon.  It's the product of months of hard graft wading through oceans of average, overly tannic Bordeaux getting the blend exactly as we wanted it.  Largely Merlot in it's make up, this is a fleshy 'right bank' style of wine; soft, ripe and easy with juicy plum and black fruit, with just enough Cabernet to give it backbone and a hint of spice from the ageing in oak barrels.  It's a blend designed especially for lovers of our style of wine and it's 2010 - the perfect vintage to create the bespoke Vintner Claret we thought.
