This Mercurey certainly over-delivers for the appellation. Lots of fruit density that is still very much at the brooding part of its life. The fruit is well-concentrated, fleshy and balanced. Red berries, black cherry dominate on the palate and there is a hint of leather too. It will keep getting better.

Château de Chamirey
Amaury et Aurore Devillard represent the 5th generation to work at the Domaine. In 1934, their great-great-grandfather, Marquis de Jouennes, was the first to bottle the wines of Château de Chamirey. His son-in-law Bertrand Devillard was the one to extend the Domaine to the size it is now and he has laid strong foundations: the family has always taken pride in planting low yields so that although the quantity of grapes is smaller, the quality is fantastic.
