Tasting Note

This blend from Galicia is a juicy, fruity belter that livens up any meal. A lovely depth of red and dark cherry, black plum, and a smokey balsamic note on the finish. The tannins are velvety soft and make this easy on its own, but I would pair with some seasonal dishes.

The Producer

Bodegas Casal de Armán

Hailing from Galicia in the North West of Spain, this family owned estate produces wines of exceptional quality from unusual grape varietals such as Treixadura, Godello and Albariño.

Casal de Armán began restoring an 18th century country house in 1996 and acquired various plots of vineyards (many of which has actually been in the family for four generations) in some of the best growing sites in the area.

Today the González-Vázquez family farm about 20 hectares of vineyards and their deep respect for the preservation of the land remains integral to their farming philosophy.

Focussing on fruit driven, textural wines, the winery has has racked up a string of awards in Spain and Europe for being on the best performers in Ribeiro.
