Gusbourne

Gusbourne winemaker, Charlie Holland, honed his skills in Australia, Germany, New Zealand and the USA before taking the helm at Gusbourne. With numerous international awards to his name, Charlie has produced some of the most celebrated sparkling wines in the UK and beyond. Winemaking here is a slow and measured process following strict, self-imposed parameters to maintain exacting quality standards. To ensure the best expression of their wines, intervention is kept to an absolute minimum throughout the production process.

All of the grapes used in their winemaking are sourced solely from Gusbourne vineyards, just over 40 hectares of which are to be found at the Gusbourne Estate in Kent, with another 21.9 hectares in West Sussex. These vineyards are all planted with the classic Champagne varietals of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier and predominantly with Burgundian clones, which means a lower yield but ultimately a riper fruit with significantly more flavour.
