Founded in 1776, Louis Roederer is one of the oldest Champagne houses in the world. Originally named Dubois Père & Fils, it was inherited by Louis Roederer in 1833 from his uncle. Roederer renamed the house and concentrated on expanding internationally, notably to the Russian Empire. It remains to this day one of the only Champagne houses that is still independent and family-run.
Today, Louis Roederer is managed by Frédéric Rouzaud, a seventh-generation descendent of the family line. Three million bottles are exported annually around the world, made from 240 hectares of Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards.
