Marlborough, New Zealand
Founded in 1988 by Drs John and Brigid Forrest, Forrest Wines is a New Zealand family owned and operated business with vineyards throughout the country. Though the Forrest family were historically farmers in the Marlborough region, John and Brigid’s initial careers were in scientific research and medicine. After living and working in California and South Australia, they moved home and entered the New Zealand wine industry. Forrest Wines now has multiple labels, vineyards, awards and accolades under its belt and shows no signs of stopping.
The Forrests’ scientific background has led to experimental and innovative approaches to winemaking, such as pioneering techniques for producing low alcohol wines that maintain full flavours. Forrest Wine now owns about 130 hectares of vineyards in Marlborough, Otago, Waitaki Valley, and Hawke’s Bay. They remain a family operation, with owners John and Brigid's daughter Beth joining the business as winegrowing manager.
