Domaine Gayda is situated in the Languedoc, about 25km south west of Carcassone, in the village of Brugairolles. Owned and run by Tim Ford, and Anthony Record, alongside winemaker Vincent Chansault, the winery was refounded in 2004 with the aim of creating a new style of winemaking in the region.

The result is a fresh faced, innovative and exciting project, creating amazing wines that are both rooted in tradition and also led by modern techniques and technology. All the vineyards are organic, which reflect the emphasis on a mutual respect between environment and winemaker.

As the name suggests, Figure Libre is an expressive wine that isn’t bound by any tradition. More commonly found in the Loire (home of winemaker Vincent Chansault), Cabernet Franc is rarely grown in the Languedoc region. It was planted by Chansault as the sandstone terroir of Brugairolles is well suited to this grape. The result is a wine that reflects the winemaker’s heritage, but is also expressive of the bold Languedoc terroir.
