Tasting Note

Medium-bodied with refreshing citrus, orange rind and exotic fruits and a refreshing lingering finish. Not as tart as a Sauvignon or as rich as a Chardonnay, Grüner is a versatile, food-friendly wine that comes highly recommended! (Lucy)

The Producer

Weingut Stadt Krems

Founded in the 1400s Weingut Stadt Krems is one of the oldest wine producers in Austria, and has a very old-fashioned and conservative history. However, in recent years it has been significantly modernised and with a more outward looking and highly-trained generation now at the helm the quality has improved dramatically. It is owned and run by the local municipality, and its cellar is located under the town moat.
