Domaine Hugel

Alsace, France

The Hugel family can trace their Alsace winemaking roots back to their ancestor Hans Ulrich Hugel in 1639, and have been in their current premises since 1902. Since 1983 the family’s wines have been looked after by Marc Hugel, and more recently he has been joined by his nephew, Marc André.

This wine is made exclusively from hand harvested grapes from predominantly clay and limestone vineyards, in a dozen of the most favoured localities in and around Riquewihr. Situated between the peaks of the Vosges mountains and the Plain of Alsace, Riquewihr is a medieval town right in the heart of the Alsatian vineyards. A cool and long growing season gives this unique dry wine great finesse and unequalled intensity.
