Domaine Amirault at Le Clos des Quarterons have gained success through the family business of six generations. For nearly two centuries, every single member of the Amirault family has contributed to the expertise in winemaking at Domaine Amirault. Now, Agnes, Xavier, and Thierry are combining their best efforts to make top quality organic wines from the Loire Valley.
Domaine Amirault carries a very deep appreciation for agriculture. They operate their vineyard around eco-friendliness and sustainability. All of the wines produced at their vineyard are certified organic wines. At 1,050 hectares, the St. Nicholas du Bourgueil vineyards covers a third of their land. Their Cabernet Franc grape variety that they call “Breton” has been recognized in the region since as early as 1152, but really gained recognition in 1850. The slopes of the vineyard are protected by a forest acting as a shelter from any cold winds. The wine that comes from the vineyard is protected under the designation of origin status, as the entire production is located within the village.
