Château de Chamirey
Amaury et Aurore Devillard represent the 5th generation to work at the Domaine. In 1934, their great-great-grand-father, Marquis de Jouennes, was the first to bottle the wines of Château de Chamirey. His son-in-law Bertrand Devillard was the one to extend the Domaine to the size it is now and he has laid strong foundations: the family has always taken pride in planting low yields so that although the quantity of grapes is smaller, the quality is fantastic.
Château de Chamirey is owned by the Antonin Rodet negociant house and is located just outside Mercurey. This area produces the most full-bodied red wines of the Côte Chalonnaise and is a good searching ground for great value Red Burgundies that have complexity and depth. Château de Chamirey owns 95 acres of vineyards which are an average of 35 years old, and 40% of their vineyards are Premier Cru.
