Susana Perez is Vine Nora’s head winemaker, born and raised in the winery’s designation of origin Rias Baixas, and her family has been involved in Condado de Tea wine for many generations, even the house she lives in now next to the Vina Nora vines has belonged to her family for four generations. Having inherited a passion for wine and vineyard heritage, studying agricultural engineering and oenology was a natural career path for Perez to take. After finishing her studies, Perez worked at two wineries, before joining a scientific viticultural team in her home region of Galicia. After this period of scientific research working with Galician clones of grapes, Susana returned to winemaking.

Vina Nora owns 14 hectares of vineyards, all growing the Albarino variety, which grow on the slopes on the north bank of the Miro river. The vines grow on soils of alluvial gravel and fragmented granite, and have an excellent position facing the midday sun. All the harvesting is done by hand, under the watchful eyes of Susana and Josephine, and the grapes are then chilled immediately due to the fragile nature of the Albarino grape.
